I love it. I can't wait until my check comes and I can pay off the remainder of my mortgage... what's that, you say? It doesn't work like that? Since I actually considered what I signed as a mortgage I have to pay the rest of mine? Oh, in that case I hate it.
It's like giving money to a gambling addict or a junkie. It won't be enough, and they'll be back asking for more. And no one will have learned their lesson.
It's a way to get things moving but will it have the desired effect? Who knows. There doesn't seem to be any other option though. If they don't do it, the markets take a dive and we all lose our 401Ks.
It would be nice if the bill could somehow retroactively punish the companies who got us in this mess, but that's impossible to do without hurting ourselves in the process.
So, we deal with it and hope we recoup some of the money eventually.
